She had to get her important stuff out of the way first - then she could climb out of bed and face the day.
First things first, she had to call up Marcy and talk for 30 min about what nail polish to wear for the big outing to the grocery store on Thursday afternoon. Next, she had to piss and moan about the boys in her class and how they don't 'chat with her enough'. It drove her insane the way they could go through entire days with only saying a few words. In her mind there were so many more important things to discuss and pick apart.
Dark thoughts rose to the front of her mind. She paced the floor of her bedroom. Why did her parents only give her $600, when clearly she needed $1000 for the spring break trip to Cancun? Why would people cut her off in the middle of her sentences? Why couldn't she look people in the eye?
As the minutes passed she grew weary at the thought of never meeting the right boy. She saw a vision of her future. In it, a cat sat by the window of her single apartment. The T.V. blared it's uselessness daytime drama in the background. She could smell pea soup for one burning on the stove top.
She winced.
