Dr. Enfield • Lab Report - Oct 1885

The moment of enlightenment struck me with the intensity of lightning. I mixed the compounds until my eyes burned and my hands ached. I was on the verge of the ultimate breakthrough... the champion moment was upon me, and I was ready to embrace it.

Just then a knock came on my laboratory door... the knocks turned to pounding; the pounding to battering. They were getting in one way or another. Time was of the essence - I accelerated my task.

I heard the door come crashing open, followed by the shouting crowd in the corridor. In a panic I dropped the beaker containing the stimuli solution. Instantly my brain swelled as I inhaled the vapors from the spilled liquid. Molecules & membranes in my skull began to shift and shutter, dancing a tango that humans will never know.

I sensed fire nearby as I was consumed by a green light. When the flames overtook me, I thought of my wife and children. I probably should've been thinking of an antidote or a way out of this mess... but hey - I've always been a family man.
