The Finishing Day

We walked past the artshow. To us it was just an all out freak jamboree. We we over that. Beyond it. A thing like that couldn't touch us, and never would. Time had moved on... and so had we.

There would be no more leftover meatloaf conversations with Albert. No more drawnout walks along the canal with Lucinda. Now we had uncovered a whole new realm. We had seen the core of the earth and we wanted control of it's powers.

Later on that day we had stopped into one of those internet cafes and looked up strange meanings of Latin words. These were words we didn't know at the time, but would one day come to understand.

It was around 4am when Suzanne asked me if I had any gum or candy. In fact I just so happened to have a fresh pack of Jucy Fruit, and nothing would please me more than to share a stick with her.
