Fresh Kill

Chester looked up from his hot plate into the grey eyes of his Father. Ever since he had quit the varsity soccer team in order to try out for cheerleading, tensions between the two of them had arisen.

"You never listen to what I say Dad! I want to be a cheerleader by golly! I don't care what the other parents say!" proclaimed Chester

"Well son, you are going to be the only Nancy-Boy out there with your Pompoms and cartwheel flips... I just can't stand seeing you out there making an ass outta yourself and this family!"

"Well I guess we will just have to get used to it, cause I'm not gonna change! Not for you, or no one!!! By the way what is this we are having for dinner?"

"Oh, do you like it? It's Fresh kill Mutton and Cream Corn."

"It's like simply like heaven on my tongue. Ummmm.... Truly a killer combo."

"Oh I'm so glad you like it Chester. I just wish Sara was here to enjoy it with us." he sighed

"You're going to have to let her go Dad. She would have wanted it that way."

"It's just that I hate what I have become since she left... I hate the world, and I hate myself Chester."

"I hate you too Dad... I, hate you too."

They finished the meal in silence. After supper Chester went out into the front yard to practice his cheers and jimmy flips. His father went into the basement and tattooed a rose and skull into his forehead. He did this partly in memory of Sara, but mainly because he was a hugetime Guns n' Roses fan, and he wanted the world to know it.
